LIGHT NOISE GLASS™️ MONOTYPE PRINT
I am thrilled to share with you an exclusive opportunity to own a piece of groundbreaking fine art printmaking—Light Noise Glass Monotype. This revolutionary new technique developed through years of experimentation and collaboration creates one of one prints that have never been done before.
Under light, the surface comes alive — not digitally, not with screens, but through pure material physics. You’re looking at a field of color that shifts with your position. A print that changes depending on the light, the angle, the moment.
HISTORY
This project began unexpectedly in Beirut in 2019, where I discovered a mysterious adherence between 35-micron retro-reflective glass microspheres and monotype inks. Despite the challenges of the revolutionary protests and a devastating explosion that destroyed much of my work, this idea endured. Now, with the generous partnership of Luciano Murua and his esteemed Malevo Estampa studio in Buenos Aires, I have the chance to bring this technique to its full potential.
INVENTION
This new process is unlike anything seen before. At first glance, the crushed glass diamond dust techniques look similar to those popularized by Warhol and others. We discovered, however, Light Noise Glass Monotype uses perfectly machined microspheres with specialized coatings that interact unpredictably and magically with monotype inks. Together, these elements create prints with extraordinary luminosity and texture, forming a completely unique artistic language.
EDITION DETAILS
When Iron Dreams in Color / Echoes Through Corrosion's Veil
“I spend a lot of time naming these pieces — not just to label them, but to spark something. The names are invitations. They open a door into how the piece was made, or how I experienced it, or how I hope someone else might feel when they stand in front of it.”
This one is called ‘When Iron Dreams in Color / Echoes Through Corrosion’s Veil.’
That phrase came out of my metalwork practice — these large rusted sculptures that feel like they’re alive. Rust, to me, isn’t decay — it’s movement. It’s memory. It’s metal entering a dream state.
The title came before the print was even finished. I carried that phrase in my mind while I drew the lines and etched the plate. It helped guide the whole process — like a compass. The print is a kind of echo of the original sculpture, passed through dream logic.
And because this project is rooted in Buenos Aires, I translate every title for the certificate of authenticity. This one becomes:
‘Cuando el Hierro Sueña en Color / Ecos a Través del Velo de la Corrosión.’
Even the language shift becomes part of the artwork — part of its identity. It’s still the same thought, but refracted. Like the light in the print.
TRANSLATIONS IN ARTISTRY
I make large-scale artworks out of rusted metal — heavy, physical, built to live in space. But not everyone is in the market for a museum-grade sculpture, and I wanted to create something more intimate — something you can hold, frame, live with.
So I started translating those metal works into prints — the way artists have done for centuries. Not just to reproduce them, but to reimagine them.
To begin, I made a drawing based on one of my oxidized pieces. I wasn’t trying to copy the surface exactly — I wanted to draw how the metal felt. How it looked in my mind after living with it for weeks. In that drawing, I chose to repeat the lines — to let the forms echo and loop back on themselves.
I etched that drawing into a printing plate and used it to make a monotype. Once it’s printed and sealed with glass, the surface becomes alive — the repeated lines start to shimmer under light. You get this illusion of movement, like the image is breathing.
That motion isn’t decoration — it’s part of the meaning. It represents the slow unraveling of metal. The entropy inside corrosion. A still image that still knows how to dissolve.
